Behind the Camera

My name is Jake Chapman, and for the past five years, I've called Tillsonburg home alongside my wife and our two daughters.

For the last 15 years, I've worked as a media specialist, wearing many different hats along the way. My career began at CTV as a Field Camera Operator and eventually led me to running my own business, producing corporate videos, photographing weddings and engagements, and capturing stories of all kinds.

As a photographer and videographer, I've had the opportunity to work with well-known brands, political organizations, small businesses, and hardworking families. Over the years, I've been fortunate enough to gain experience in a little bit of everything.

Then, in 2020, I found myself with a new title: Dad.

To this day, it's still the best title I've ever had.

As the world shut down, it became increasingly difficult to maintain a career built around constant human interaction while also providing for my growing family. Like many people, I had to pivot. I stepped back into the workforce and took whatever opportunities I could find. Before long, I found myself tied to a paycheck and further away from the creative work I loved.

Fast forward to today.

While still working a typical 9-to-5, I found myself searching for a way back to the world that had inspired me for so many years: capturing moments that matter.

But this time, I wanted to do it differently.

I wanted to create something that genuinely helps local families. No hidden fees. No photo limits. Most importantly, photography that is affordable and accessible.

I've never understood why a photographer would ask you to "pick your top five" while the rest of your photos sit forgotten on a hard drive. Those images may have little value to anyone else, but they could mean everything to you and your family.

Your memories shouldn't be hidden behind a paywall.

Your photos shouldn't be held hostage.

Because photography isn't my primary source of income, I'm not under pressure to maximize every booking. Instead, I can focus on what matters most: creating a great experience, delivering quality work, and keeping my pricing fair, transparent, and accessible.

So here I am.
